First Presbyterian Church Snow Policy
Worship
General rule is that we do not cancel 8:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Sunday worship due to weather, and that Sunday School Classes will meet. If there is no power, services may be cancelled. Notice would be listed on TV channels 2, 4 and 5, on the church's website www.fpcnashville.org, and on the church's telephone answering machine under the category of Church Services & Events (Ext. 2) when you dial 383-1815.
Adult Choir Rehearsals
Members of the Sanctuary Choir and Sanctuary Chorale are to call either Daphne Garey at 298-9517 or Susan Kirby at 298-9540 for instructions.
Presbyterian Women Circles
All Circles follow the Oak Hill School schedule. Check local TV channels (see above) for this information.
Recreation Department
Cancellations will be listed on the Recreation Hotline (298-9530), which is updated regularly. Classes are considered on a case-by-case basis. Even though Oak Hill School may be closed, sometimes recreation activities, classes and practices are possible because they are held later in the day when roads may have cleared. Check the Recreation Hotline.
All Other FPC Activities
For all other church activities, the rule is: "If Oak Hill School is closed, no other programs will be held at the church, offices or school that day or evening." This includes the church administrative offices, committee meetings, Wednesday School of Christian Living, Children's Choirs, Session and Diaconate meetings, Presbyterian Women meetings, etc. However, if the weather clears for safe driving, business may resume later that day/night. |
