Communities of Belonging: Fall Small Groups

The Power of We: The Great Ends of the Church
Mid October – Thanksgiving Week

What do you say when you are asked, “Why do you go to church?” Do you, or we as Christians, have more to say than “Well, it’s what we’ve always done as a family”?  Our Presbyterian offer six specific purposes, the Great Ends of the Church, that ground us in our life and work together. In this fall’s communities of belonging groups, we will dive into why “We” is crucial to our faith and lives.  God calls us to do life together, and there are some things that we can only do together.

If you would like to host or lead a group, please contact Mark DeVries at Group registration will begin September 1. Todd’s sermons will mirror the themes for the study each week.

Over the past year and a half, over 300 members and friends of our church have been a part of one of these short-term, increasingly popular, community of belonging groups. Our churches seeks to be a place that intentionally cultivates communities of belonging so come join us for the fourth series. We hope that these studies combined with group discussions will be meaningful times to contemplate scripture and to build community, strengthening old friendships and forming new ones.  Click here to learn more about our Communities of Belonging initiative.

Small Group Options

The groups will meet once a week from mid October – Thanksgiving week. Many existing communities (Bible studies, Sunday School classes, etc) within our church have picked up this study and, as before, new groups have formed to convene in homes and locations in the Nashville area at different times throughout the week.   If you don’t see a time/day that works for you and you are interested in leading/hosting a group, please contact Mark DeVries at
