Worship at First Presbyterian Church
The heart beat of our First Presbyterian Church family is the worship of Almighty God. Worship is our response to what God has done for us in Jesus Christ. Our worship services at 8:30 and 11:00 on Sunday morning are rooted in the Reformed tradition, Biblical in shape and substance and centered in the grace of God revealed in Jesus Christ. Music plays a vital role in worship, and we have choirs for children of all ages, a youth choir and two adult choirs that lead us in singing praise to God.
The basic order of our services remains largely the same each week, yet within that familiar framework there is variety and innovation.Presbyterian worship seeks to express something of the majesty and wonder of the God we worship, drawing from the rich traditions of two thousand years of Christian worship and liturgy. Our services, through praise, prayer, song,sermon and sacrament, seek to worship God with the dignity and reverence due to Him, and yet to do so with the warmth and joy that Jesus Christ brings to life.
