Presbyterian Women

Mission Statement

Presbyterian Women encourages women in their walk with Christ through study of the Word, prayer, fellowship with one another, service to the church and the community, and support of the mission of the church worldwide.

. . . speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.
—Jeremiah 29:11

Small Group Bible Study and Fellowship

Are you interested in joining a group of women that meets monthly to talk about living the Christian life? Morning and evening groups, known as Circles, meet on the second week of each month. Contact Denise Bellardo for more info about the Circles.

2022 Spring Study

The Presbyterian Women spring study, which begins January 11, will follow Adam Hamilton’s book Half Truths: God Helps Those Who Help Themselves and Other Things the Bible Doesn’t Say. The book, which compares Christian clichés (things like “God won’t give you more than you can handle”) with the wisdom found in Scripture, is available on Amazon.com or at the FPC bookstore.

2021–22 Presbyterian Women Circles

Circles will meet in October, November, January, February, March, and April.

May 10, 2022 | 6:00 p.m. | Home of Mary Barfield

The Presbyterian Women Spring Gathering is a time for fellowship and reflection on the past year. Join us at the home of Mary Barfield as we enjoy dinner together, thank our outgoing leadership, welcome our new leaders and incoming moderator, and name the recipient of the PW Lifetime Achievement Award.

2021 Christmas Gathering

Three women representing different generations at shared short reflections on the theme “Finding Christ at Christmas.” Music was provided by pastors Ryan Moore, Sarah Bird Kneff, and Stuart Gordon, as well as Daphne Garey and Peter Rogahn. Watch the recording here.

2021 Fall Gathering

The Presbyterian Women Fall Gathering was held on Tuesday, September 14, at 10:00 a.m. in the Sanctuary. The focus of the program was women of the Bible, and our guest speaker was Rev. Lauren Scharf, a friend of Sarah Bird Kneff. Lauren is a priest serving in the Pittsburgh Diocese of the Anglican Church of North America (ACNA). She has served two local churches over the past decade and is currently pursuing doctoral studies at Trinity School for Ministry. She has a particular interest in practical theology and issues related to empowering women in the church. She lives just outside Pittsburgh with her husband, Chris; her two children, Caleb and Madelyn; and a neurotic Border collie named Snowflake. Watch the recording here.
