Masks No Longer Required for Church Activities

In accordance with recent CDC recommendations and guidance from Metro Nashville Health Department, First Presbyterian Nashville will follow national and local health officials, as has been our protocol throughout the pandemic, that fully vaccinated persons may discard masks and the need for social distancing outdoors and in most indoor settings, including worship services. Masks are still welcome for those unvaccinated or those at greater risk of infection.

Please note: Oak Hill School, for the remaining 8 days of the school calendar, will continue with their current mask requirements in place.

A guiding principle in Presbyterian governance is that all things be done decently and in order (1 Corinthians 14:40). With great care, thought, and prayer, the Session remains committed to the health and safety of our staff, members, school community, and visitors to this historic campus. With your help, we have been able to greatly minimize the risks to our community while worshipping and enabling the preschool and Oak Hill to remain in session for the full academic calendar, 2020-2021.

Leadership and staff are making arrangements so that we can become fully operational soon. Effective Sunday, June 6th, we will reopen our Children’s Ministry on Sunday Mornings.

  • Ages 0-3: Nursery will reopen for the 11:00 a.m. service. The nursery will serve children age 6 weeks to 3 years.  The nursery will open at 10:30 a.m. and close at 12:15 p.m. Reservations will be required each week. Registration is available at fpcnashville.org.
  • Ages 4-6: Young Children and Worship will be offered during the 11:00 a.m. service.
  • All ages: Family Summer Sundays Under the Tent is a new offering for this summer! At 9:45 a.m., between the morning worship services, parents and children of all ages are invited to gather together behind the Cheek House for faithful fun as a family.
  • All ages: Very Playful Summer (VPS) activities will happen all summer long! After a school year like no other, we will use the summer vacation as a welcome opportunity to reconnect with friends and play together.

As always, additional information on the reopening of our campus and the restarting of ministries and programs will be located on the church website and through our weekly e-newsletter, Parish News.
