Reopening Update and Plans

Hello to everyone on the TEAM!  You all have been missed at the barn and I’m glad to announce that I have news about our programming plans amid the COVID-19 virus.
TEAM-FPC is committed to providing the safest environment possible for our participants, volunteers, and staff.  After careful review of CDC, State, Local (Metro Nashville Health Department), and PATH International guidelines, I have devised a slow, phased-in reopening plan that will be based in part on the current and changing state of the pandemic.  While things will initially look and operate differently than before, I hope to return to “normal” operations as soon as possible based on the guidelines.

PHASE 1 – Starting June 22, 2020:
  • Limited Volunteer Stable Hands phased back into the schedule after infection control training with a staff member.
  • Limited Exercise Riders phased back into the schedule after infection control training with a staff member.
PHASE 2 – Starting July 6, 2020:
6 Weeks Revised Summer Schedule
Oak Hill Day Camp Horse Camp Alternative Participants and all children and young adults ages 8 – 18
  • Limited enrollment to horse camp participants who can mount and ride independently with no physical contact with staff or volunteers.
  • Alternative scheduling that is limited to 2 participants at a time for a one hour lesson with grooming and tacking review conducted with 6 feet social distancing by staff/volunteers.
  • Only Volunteer Horse Leaders will be needed for the revised summer schedule.
PHASE 3 – Starting August 24, 2020:
TEAM-FPC Fall Semester Commences
  • Extremely limited enrollment for participants who can mount and ride independently with no physical contact from our staff or volunteers.
  • Alternative scheduling that is limited to 2 participants at a time for a 40-minute lesson with no grooming or tacking allowed by the participant.
  • Only Volunteer Horse Leaders will be needed for revised fall schedule.
PHASE 4 – Starting date TBD:
  • Participants that require physical support return.
  • Continue scheduling to no more than 2 participants per lesson.
  • Participants that require 2 side-walkers will only be scheduled for private, 30-minute lessons.
PHASE 5 – Starting date TBD:
All Participants Can Return
  • Participants that require 2 sidewalkers may be scheduled with one other rider for a 40-minute lesson.
PHASE 6 – Starting date TBD:
  • Programming can return to pre-pandemic scheduling and all volunteers/staff can return to normal operations.  Continued cleaning and sanitizing protocols will still be in place.
In the event that updated guidelines and protocols are released,
then this phased-in plan will be adjusted accordingly.

Additional information will be sent to parents/caregivers of qualifying participants before returning to the barn.  For those of you that have deposited money before the pandemic, but your participant does not yet qualify to return, then you can either request a refund or make a tax-deductible donation to TEAM-FPC with that deposit.  If you have any additional questions or concerns, then please respond to TEAM-FPC Executive Director Curt Stacy on an independent email to:  cstacy@fpcnashville.org.
Thank you for your understanding of this phased-in plan and I sincerely hope to be able to serve ALL interested participants as soon as possible!
All my best…
Curt
