Congratulations on your decision to marry!  We want to share in your joy and are delighted that you have chosen to have your wedding service of worship at First Presbyterian Church of Nashville.  To marry in a church is to decide to make the Living God central not only to your wedding but to your marriage.  Jesus came to the wedding feast in Cana of Galilee, and with His presence came joy, as he brought life and joy to the occasion.  We hope and pray that with Jesus as the Great Host at your wedding feast, his love and joy will bless your wedding.

Wedding Policy

FPC’s Wedding Policy has been put together thoughtfully and carefully in order to help you make your wedding as memorable and profound a celebration as it can be.  Weddings are finally services of worship, which means that God is present.  We want everything about your wedding to glorify God and to be done with great joy, reverence and dignity.  Know that our prayers are with you in this time, and our hope is that this will be a moment that guides and sustains you through the joys and sorrows of life with God as your companion!

Scheduling a Wedding

First Presbyterian Church’s facilities are available upon request only to church members, the children of church members, and current church staff.  Scheduling your wedding ceremony involves both the schedule of the officiating pastor and the church activities calendar.   No weddings will be scheduled on Sundays, Holy Week, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day, or on Festival weekends (Kirkin, First Fest, Fall Festival).

Once you have reviewed First Presbyterian Church’s Wedding Policy (see above), and have decided you would like your wedding to be held at FPC, you can reserve a tentative date for your wedding by completing a Wedding Request form; however the date will only be confirmed after one of the pastors has met with you, approved the wedding, and agreed to officiate at the wedding.

After the approval of your application and the initial meeting with the officiating pastor, you will receive a letter from the church confirming your wedding; however, the wedding date will not be finalized until your wedding fee is received by the church office.
