Organist and Assistant Director of Music

Dr. Peter Rogahn

Peter provides organ music and accompaniment for scheduled worship services, choirs, children’s choir, and other activities at the church. He also directs the handbell choir. Additionally, he works on the growth and development of the FPC Music Academy. He enjoys working to support the music ministry of FPC and playing a role in the musical life of the Church. He is happy to answer any questions about sacred music. Please let him know if you have any questions about participating in the music ministry at FPC whether it is through choirs, handbell choir, or the Music Academy.

Peter grew up in Austin, TX in a family of Lutherans! Although he started piano lessons at eight years old, he always wanted to play the organ. He took organ lessons from his home church organist when he was 14 and has not stopped playing. He previously served as Precentor at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Indianapolis before coming to Nashville. As a believer in the positive impact of music education, he was also the Choral Accompanist and Instructional Assistant at Lawrence North High School, where he accompanied the school’s six choirs and taught music theory, AP music theory, piano, and electronic music.
