Choristers

Faithful and enriching worship leadership experience for young musicians.

FPC Choristers is an exciting program for students in 4th grades and above to learn and grow in the Christian faith through music. Through this afterschool program, participants have the chance to develop their musicianship and theory skills while regularly leading in worship alongside our Sanctuary choir.

Objectives and Program Highlights

In this program, choristers will:

  • Grow in the Christian faith through the words we sing, worship we lead, and relationships we build.
  • Learn musicianship and theory: build a foundation for higher-level music-making in high school, college, and beyond.
  • Explore the church’s rich musical heritage, singing music written over the past 400 years alongside professional musicians.
  • Make friends! Build teamwork, fellowship, and community with peers.
  • Foster leadership skills and confidence in public speaking.
  • Serve the community through varied singing opportunities.

Sunday Commitment

Choristers will commit to regularly singing in worship (typically twice a month) at the 8:30 or 11:00 a.m. worship service.  Rehearsals and worship dates will follow the academic calendar.

Interested in Choristers?

Here's what you need to know:

  • Choristers can be in 4th-12th grade. Since the chorister program is currently a treble-only choir, male choristers can participate until their voices change.
  • The program follows the academic calendar with a fall program and a spring program.
  • Tuition costs are covered by FPC for choristers who commit to regular worship leadership.
  • Choristers are required to attend at least one rehearsal each week and on called Sundays.
  • Rehearsals are held Monday (4:10-5:10 p.m.) and Wednesday (3:00-4:00 p.m.) in the Sanctuary.
  • This chorister program is led by Joey Fala.
