First Presbyterian Church has a long history of using our beautiful property to encourage playfulness and relational connection to enhance faith development in people of all ages.

Spring 2025 Registration Information

  • Spring soccer registration opens on January 1, 2025.
  • All registration will be taking place through the Upward Sports portal. 
  • Teams are available for boys and girls, ages 3 years through rising 4th graders. Please note if you are registering your child for the kindergarten age group it will show as K56.   
  • Early Registration (January 1 through January 23)
    • PreK 3–5: $170 per player
    • Kindergarten and older: $195 per player
  • Late Registration (January 24 through January 31)
    • PreK 3–5: $270 per player
    • Kindergarten and older: $295 per player
  • No registrations will be accepted after January 31. If exceptions have to be made there is NO guarantee that players will have a jersey by the first weekend of games.
  • Siblings will receive a $15 discount. When you register, please register all siblings at once in order to receive the discount. If your children are in separate divisions, please send us an email at recreation@fpcnashville.org for your unique discount code. Discounts CANNOT be applied or refunded after registration.   
  • Coaches will receive a $70 discount on registration for one child. Please register as a coach and email us BEFORE registering your child for the coach's discount code. Discounts CANNOT be applied or refunded after registration.

Game Days

During the soccer season, we will host seven Saturday game days. All games will be held on the FPC campus between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on Saturday game days.

Coach Registration 

Coach Information

  • All registration will be taking place through the Upward Sports portal. 
  • Coaches must complete a separate registration to create a team. 
  • We will try to accommodate team member/roster requests to make it easier for carpooling, existing school relations, etc. but there will be no guarantees.  We will also place free agents on teams as we see fit.  Please have a list of your preferred team members ready at registration and enter them in the “Additional Information” box.   
  • Our Recreation Team will review your roster submission, and team rosters will be finalized and released onto your Upward Coaches Portal by February 5.   
  • Coaches Orientation Meeting will be held Tuesday, March 18, at 6:00 p.m. via Zoom.
  • Jersey pick up week will be March 17–19 from 9:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m.
  • Coaches will receive a $70 discount on registration for their children. Please register yourself and email us at recreation@fpcnashville.org BEFORE you register your child do receive the coaches discount code.  
  • All coaches must complete a background check.
  • Please check which day you prefer for practices where it asks, “Which Days Available to Coach” and put the preferred time in the “Additional Info” box. 
  • Practices will start March 24 and will be held Monday–Friday. Practice spaces and times will be first come first serve based on coach registration. If you email practice requests and have not registered the requests will not be honored. Practice availability is TBD while we work with the needs of OHS athletics.  Practices will start and end on the hour so please request exact hour time slots (ex: 3:00–4:00 p.m., not 3:15–4:15 p.m.). Practice schedules will be finalized by March 17 and will be available to view on your Coaches Upward App.

When will registration open for Spring 2025?

What are the divisions? 

  • Pre-K 3 and 4-year-olds, Pre-K 5-year-olds, Kindergarten boys, Kindergarten girls, 1st & 2nd grade boys, 1st & 2nd grade girls, 3rd & 4th grade boys, and 3rd & 4th grade girls 

What is the cost to register? 

  • Early Registration (January 1–23): PreK 3/4/5-year-olds $170; Kindergarten and up $195
  • Late Registration (January 24–31): PreK 3/4/5-year-olds $270; Kindergarten and up $295

What is the registration deadline? 

  • Registration closes at midnight on January 31  

Is there a sibling discount? 

  • Yes. Discounts can only be applied when siblings register together, and it is applied automatically if they are in the same division. If your children are in both the PREK and the older divisions, please send us an email at recreation@fpcnashville.org for your unique discount code. 

Do Coaches get a discount for their child? 

  • Yes, coaches get $70 off registration for one child. You must email us at recreation@fpcnashville.org after registering to get your discount code. This needs to be done before registering your child.  

Can coaches also get the sibling discount? 

  • Yes, ONLY if all kids are registered together, after you have registered as a coach and received your discount code. Please email us at recreation@fpcnashville.org  after you have registered. 

Where do I sign up to coach? 

Do assistant coaches need to register? 

  • Yes, it is necessary for them to pass our background check. Please use the links above to register and mention who you are coaching with.

Can I request a coach and/or teammates? 

  • Yes, PLEASE include this information on your child’s registration form. If you don’t, you may be randomly assigned to a team.  

Do we get custom jerseys included in our registration fees? 

  • Yes. Upward Sports custom prints each jersey along with a pair of socks for each registered participant.

Can we wear our own jerseys? 

  • No, every team participating in our league must wear the Upwards custom jerseys.

What happens if I lose my jersey? 

  • Another jersey can be purchased for $35, please email our recreation team at recreation@fpcnashville.org 

When and where do the coaches pick up their team’s jerseys? 

  • Jersey pickup for the coaches is March 17–19 from 9:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m. in the old recreation office. Enter through the back side of Oak Hill School next to the flag pole, up the stairs. You’ll see a sign that says “Recreation Office”. 

What is the refund policy? 

  • A partial refund of $100 is available until the season starts on March 29. After that, there are no refunds. 

Are referees provided for games? 

  • Trained referees are provided for Kindergarten 1st & 2nd grade and 3rd & 4th grade. PreK 3, 4, and/or PreK 5 may have coaches or parents step in and cover. 

 Is a score kept? 

  • No, this is a recreational league and therefore, we do not keep score.

Where can I find the rulebook and league standards? 

I’m interested in becoming a referee. How do I get started? 

Can our team practice at First Pres during the season? 

  • Yes, coaches are allotted one hour of practice time on our fields per week. We allot times based on the order of registration- first come, first served. Please mention your top 3 days and times on your coach registration. 

When do practices begin?  

  • The week of March 24  

Is there a lost and found? 

  • Yes, you will find lost and found outside the Cannon Center (Pool House). You can drop by anytime to collect your items. 

Where can I find the schedule of the games? 

  • The game schedule will be located here starting the week of February 17.

How will my child’s coach contact me? 

  • Your child’s coach will contact you via text message and/or email. Make sure you include both on your child’s registration. 

What is the protocol for inclement weather? 

  • We monitor the weather and field conditions closely leading up to each game. If conditions are determined to be unsafe, all parents and coaches will be contacted via text message/email if the game or games need to be canceled. On game day, we notify everyone via text message as well as blowing an airhorn to signal everyone to go back to their vehicles. We do everything possible to be able to play, but if there is severe weather or heavy rain, we will cancel. Individual games can be made up among teams during their practice times on weekdays, but entire Saturdays will not be rescheduled. 

What if my team doesn’t have enough players because people are out of town? 

  • Contact us at recreation@fpcnashville.org. You have the option of scrimmaging with less players, borrowing players from your opponent, or rescheduling the game during your or your opponent’s practice time. Please do not no-show without communicating for the sake of your opponent. 

Where do we park? 

  • You may park in any marked parking spot on campus. Please do not park along curbs, buses, grass, cones, or barriers of any kind. Parking is clearly marked. 
  •  Do not park outside of the campus on the streets of the neighborhoods. 
  •  Get there early, it is likely that you will need time to walk to your field location, and parking fills up fast.  
  • Remember to communicate with any friends or family coming to watch.

  • Please do not contest the calls of the referees. Teach your child to respect all calls, even ones you or they disagree with. 
  • Remember to have FUN! This is a recreational league aimed at teaching your child the skills of the game while forming a love of the sport! Avoid making it overly competitive.
