Dr. Edwin G. Hurley

Dr. Edwin Gray Hurley is a guest preacher. He and his wife, Gayle, have deep connections to our church. Gayle is the daughter of church members Betty and Winfield Dunn; they attended FPC as college students and were married in the FPC Sanctuary 45 years ago. Dr. Hurley is Pastor Emeritus of South Highland Presbyterian Church, Birmingham, Alabama, where he served for 22 years. He has degrees from Vanderbilt University (BA), Princeton Theological Seminary (MDiv), and Fuller Theological Seminary (DMin). In addition, Dr. Hurley studied at the University of Edinburgh as part of his graduate study fellowship with Princeton. He is currently the Vice-Chair of the Board of Trustees of The Outreach Foundation and serves on the advisory board of the Beeson Divinity School, Samford University. He and Gayle have three children and five grandchildren.
