Frank Coyle

Frank A. Coyle, Esq. is the Church Executive at First Presbyterian Church of Nashville. In this role, he cares for our church’s non-ordained staff, daily operations, and strategic planning. 

For 16 years prior to joining our staff, Frank was co-founder, Senior Vice President, Secretary, and General Counsel of IASIS Healthcare, a multi-state hospital management company which grew from a startup to over $3 billion in annual revenue. At IASIS Healthcare, Frank was responsible for all the company’s and its 17 hospitals’ legal matters, including acquisitions; corporate securities; litigation, risk management and investigations; labor and employment; and health regulatory matters. Prior to starting IASIS Healthcare, Frank served as Assistant Vice President of Development / Physician Services and in-house Development Counsel for HCA, then the nation’s largest investor-owned hospital company. Before that, Frank was an M&A attorney at Baker Worthington, Tennessee’s largest law firm founded by Former White House Chief of Staff and Senator Majority Leader, Howard H. Baker. Frank also has owned and operated a dental practice management company and a title insurance technology company. He has co-written and sold a screenplay to Hollywood. Frank is a 1990 graduate of Vanderbilt University School of Law and a 1986 graduate of Carson-Newman College, with a B.A. in English. 

Frank’s wife, Laura, is an interior designer and a long-time Elder at First Presbyterian Church of Nashville. She was Governance Council Chair of the Coordinating Council and served as Moderator of Presbyterian Women, Circle Leader, among other leadership roles. After Frank and Laura joined our church in 2000, their two sons were baptized at our church and grew up in our thriving Youth Ministry. Frank’s father, Dr. Alfred Bruce Coyle, was a Baptist preacher, President of the Southern Baptist Home Missions Board, Trustee at Union University, and Vice President of Development at Carson-Newman College. These deep-rooted family connections underscore Frank's personal commitment and dedication to our community.
