Lipscomb is a 5th generation Nashvillian who went to Ensworth middle school, MBA, got a BA at Rhodes College in Memphis, TN, and a Masters Degree in Accounting at Belmont University. His wife Rachel is the Director of Communications here at First Presbyterian Church and their son, Lip, will attend the Oak Hill School starting in the Fall of 2024. Lipscomb worked at HCA after he graduated from Belmont, followed by 6 years at LBMC in audit. Lipscomb worked as the NetSuite systems admin at a medical collections company prior to taking this role at the church.
