Mallory Hammond

Mallory is the Director of Ministry to Children and their Families. In this role, she oversees the Children’s and family ministry and the First Presbyterian Early Preschool.  

Mal can help answer questions about any part of the ministry to children from birth to 12 years old, including questions (for children or with their grown-ups) about the faith, the church, worship service resources for children and families, Confirmation, any ministry-wide or church-wide major event, child development, and the spiritual nurture of children. Mallory would also love to answer any of your questions about our Early Preschool (18mo-4 years old). 

With a wealth of experience spanning 18 years in children’s ministries across Birmingham, New York City, and Nashville, Mallory brings a unique perspective to her role. Her background in musical theatre allows her to engage children through an embodied storytelling method. Mallory’s heartfelt prayer is for children to understand that the God of the Bible loves them deeply, and that they are an integral part of His ongoing story. Above all, Mallory’s greatest aspiration is for all the children of First Presbyterian Nashville to develop a profound and lasting friendship with Jesus.  

Mallory is a candidate for ordination in the PC(USA) and will finish earning her Master of Divinity from Western Theological Seminary in December 2024. When she isn’t studying, she plays with her dog Rosie, cheers for Auburn University, eats brunch, and spends time with her friends.
