Ryan Moore was called, by God’s grace, in October 2019 to be the Senior Pastor of First Presbyterian Church Nashville.
He was raised in Upland, Indiana, where his father was a professor at Taylor University. He is a graduate of Wheaton College and Duke Divinity School. In 2016, he received his Ph.D. in theology from the University of St. Andrews in Scotland.
While in seminary, Ryan served in college ministry at Blacknall Memorial Presbyterian Church. He began his pastoral ministry at Second Presbyterian Church Indianapolis as a Lake Fellow in Parish ministry. In 2008, after an interim ministry at Tabernacle Presbyterian in Indianapolis, Ryan was called as Associate Pastor for Discipleship at First Presbyterian Church Tulsa, a vibrant and growing outpost of Christ’s Kingdom. After two years of postgraduate study in Scotland, Ryan and his family returned to First Church Tulsa in 2013 to serve as Co-Pastor alongside mentor and friend, the Rev. Dr. Jim Miller.
Ryan is married to Heather, a practicing attorney and full-time mom. They have three growing and active children, Elijah, Jonah, and Georgia.
