Sally Ostheimer serves as the part-time First Friends Coordinator to support our mature adults’ spiritual and social needs. This position provides ministry support to our mature adult ministry, focusing on the spiritual and social needs of our senior adult members. She works diligently to connect active older adults with one another and with the church family for fellowship, service, and personal growth. Sally oversees the functions and activities of the First Friends Ministry, including such things as luncheons with program, short and overnight bus trips, excursions to plays, museums and other cultural events, a bridge club, and exploratory visits to retirement facilities.
Sally became a member of First Presbyterian Church of Nashville in 2015 with her husband, Rick. As a blended family, they have five children and six grandchildren. Sally has served as a deacon, is on the Local Mission and Adult Education committees, and coordinates the Current Issues Sunday School group. Having experienced retirement in December 2022 and prayerfully seeking direction, Sally comes to FPC with 35 years of experience working with mature, active adults. She says, “Being one myself, I have first-hand knowledge of the programs and interests that make life challenging and more exciting for ‘empty nesters’ or ‘soon-to-be retirees.’ My energy for people led me through an interesting life of serving others.”
