Nursery Coordinator

The Nursery Coordinator is responsible for the nurture and care of our youngest disciples of Jesus Christ, ages 0-3, through age-appropriate ministries of faith formation for babies, toddlers, and their parents. Experiences will demonstrate the way of Jesus by creating relationships and resources that strengthen parents’ connection to their children as their primary spiritual nurturers. This includes the elements of learning, knowing, and putting faith into action, thereby fulfilling the mission of the church: to know Christ, to make Him known, and exhibit His love through worship, education, and service.

Youth Director

Through Jesus Christ, by the power of the Holy Spirit, God pursues all of humanity in reconciled relationship. Modeled after God’s passionate pursuit, the FPC youth mission statement begins “ Led by the Holy Spirit and in partnership with families the youth ministry First Presbyterian Church exist to engage 100% of the youth under its care”. The youth director accomplishes that mission by providing day-to-day leadership and support for the FPC Youth Ministry. They work with young adults, youth, parents, staff and volunteers to implement a thriving, healthy youth ministry program that expands the participation of FPC youth and their families in the greater worship and mission life of the church.

Graphic Designer/Creative Coordinator

First Presbyterian Church is seeking a full-time Creative Coordinator to join the Communications Ministry. This position supports the ministry by designing print and digital collateral that advances and strengthen the Church’s mission “to know Christ, to make Him known, and to exhibit His love through worship, education and service.” This position is also responsible for managing the specific communications needs of ministry program areas as we seek to be an outpost of Christ’s kingdom. Qualified candidates should be skilled in creating Gospel-centered visual and creative content, have 3-5 years of experience in graphic design, and be proactive in learning and using technology related to the position.

Communications Manager

First Presbyterian Church is seeking a full-time Communications Manager to join the Communications Ministry. The primary function of this role is to tell the stories of how the congregation lives out the Church’s mission “to know Christ, to make Him known, and to exhibit His love through worship, education and service.” This position supports the communications of First Presbyterian Church by managing the development and production of church-wide print and digital publications, including monthly newsletters, quarterly magazines, weekly email newsletters and the Church website. This position is also responsible for managing the specific communications needs of ministry program areas as we seek to be an outpost of Christ’s kingdom. Qualified candidates should be skilled in creating Gospel-centered content, have 3-5 years of communications experience in writing and editing, have excellent English usage and verbal communication skills, knowledge of content management systems, and be proactive in learning and using technology related to the position.

Human Resources Coordinator

First Presbyterian Church has a long history of staff dedicated to the building up of God’s Kingdom through the Church. The Human Resources (HR) Coordinator plays a vital role in creating and maintaining a workplace culture wherein all staff are respected and valued for the unique role they fill at the Church. The ideal candidate for this full-time position has prior HR experience with a thorough understanding of HR policy and procedures. The HR Coordinator directs all routine functions associated with hiring, pay administration including serving as a backup for payroll processing, benefits and leave administration, and evaluating and updating Church employment policies and procedures. With a staff of full-time, part-time, and seasonal workers, there is great opportunity for developing and refining systems. The HR Coordinator should connect easily with people and have a detail-oriented mindset to handle the changing nature of the workforce.

Nursery Attendants

FPC’s nursery is short-staffed at present and seeking part-time nursery attendants to assist on Sunday mornings (without whom it may be necessary to turn families away). The Early Preschool at First Presbyterian Church Nashville

We are now accepting applications for part-time Early Childhood Educators and Support Educators for the 2021/2022 school year. Experience with and knowledge of early childhood education, NAEYC standards, TN Stars Assessment, Handwriting Without Tears, and Emergent Curriculum is desired. We operate on a school-year calendar, are NAEYC accredited, and offer a competitive salary.

Teaching positions are 5 days/week, 8:30 A.M. – 2:45 P.M. Interested candidates should submit a letter of interest and current resume to Candyee Goode.

Support Educator positions offer very flexible hours according to the various needs of the school within the hours of 9:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m., M–F. If you are in search of a part-time position (M–F, MWF, or TT), this could be the perfect fit for you. Camp Watermelon Counselors

First Presbyterian Church’s Camp Watermelon seeks to teach kids about Jesus and loving others while having fun in a community of new friends. We make crafts, play games, practice encouraging and serving each other, and learn Scripture in tangible, applicable ways that encourage team building. Campers will have time in the day for free-choice activities as well as rotate through several activity stations on campus. Campers are placed in groups of 10–12 children led by 3–4 wonderful teenage counselors who have growing relationships with the Lord.
