Building and nurturing lifelong Christians through the active praising and worshiping of God.
The experience of worshiping Jesus Christ through music is a lasting gift that sticks with children into adulthood. As our children learn musical skills in choir, they also form friendships, learn church music traditions, and build courage to present their talents to each other and the larger church body.
All four-year-olds through sixth graders are invited to join the Children's Choir! We convene seasonally, allowing families to opt in or out as schedules permit. The Choir typically practices for four weeks prior to participating in a worship service. Rehearsals typically occur over four weeks following the 11:00 a.m. service, with lunch provided as part of the rehearsal. Children's Choir learns a song to share with the congregation as a part of the worship service, regularly participating in special services, such as Christmas pageants, Palm Sunday, and Mother's Day. Led by Kevin Salter, the Children's Choir is an excellent opportunity for children to lead congregational worship in song.
FPC Choristers is an exciting pilot program for students in 4th grades and above to learn and grow in the Christian faith through music. Through this afterschool program, participants have the chance to develop their musicianship and theory skills while leading in worship alongside our Sanctuary choir twice a month.
FPC’s Music Academy offers vocal and instrumental lessons to allow our younger disciples and adults to explore their God-given artistic gifts in voice, violin, harp, piano, organ, and guitar. Our music instruction meets a standard of excellence that inspires students to learn, grow, and serve with their gifts to the glory of God alone.
