Nursery Guidelines

Where do I go?

  • New Families: Check in the Children’s Wing lobby—a greeter or staff member will be at the welcome table with a couple of things for you to fill out.
    • Your child will receive a nametag with a security code on it, as will the parent/caregiver.
    • You will need this security code to pick up your child.
    • A greeter will show you to your child’s classroom.
  • General Check-in: Check-in using the tablets in the Children’s Wing lobby. Your nametags will print.
    • One nametag will be for your child.
    • One nametag will be for the parent/caregiver, with a security code that is required to pick up your child.
    • One nametag will be for the classroom leader, for check-in/check-out purposes.
    • One will be a bag tag.

What do I bring?

  • Bring what is necessary for your child during Sunday morning. Normally families bring a diaper bag, a snack or milk, a pacifier, and/or a toy for comfort.
  • We have goldfish and water in the classrooms for the walkers & older.

What if my child is sick?

  • We ask that your child not attend the nursery if they are not feeling well, for the health and safety of the other children and our volunteers/staff.
  • If your child has experienced fever, vomiting, or diarrhea in the last 24 hours, please refrain from using the nursery.
  • If we notice your child is sick, we may text you to come get your child.

What if my child is very upset when I leave them?

  • We will strive to console your child and comfort them as best we can and assure them that their caregiver will return for them.
  • If they are very upset for an extended period of time, we will text the caregiver to come get the child.
  • It is not uncommon for kids to be upset when their parents drop them off on Sunday mornings.

Who will be in the room with my child?

  • We have a combination of nursery volunteers and staff working in the room with your child. They are all excited to work with kids, nurture them, and tell them about the love God has for them.

What will my child experience on Sunday morning?

  • During the 8:30 & 11:00 worship services, your child will have snack (if they desire), play games, go outside (weather permitting), and do fun activities with our volunteers and staff.
  • During the 9:45 Education Hour, the nursery coordinator will share a story, song, and memory verse with the children. They will also do activities and other exciting things during the hour.
