The heartbeat of First Presbyterian Church’s family is the worship of Almighty God. Worship is our response to what God has done for us in Jesus Christ. Traditional worship services are celebrated Sundays at 8:30 and 11:00 A.M. in the Sanctuary. The Reverend Dr. Todd Jones or one of our Associate Pastors engage our minds and hearts with the Word from the pulpit. They are rooted in the Reformed tradition, Biblical in shape and substance and centered in the grace of God revealed in Jesus Christ. We have choirs for children of all ages and two adult choirs that lead us in singing praise to God in our worship services. Sunday mornings from 9:45-10:45 A.M. are bustling with opportunities for all ages to experience God’s Word and the Christian life. We invite you — adults, young adults, youth and children — to join us for Sunday School.
Our contemporary worship service, known as The Five Thirty is held Sundays in the The Gathering Place at 5:30 – 6:30 P.M. This service offers our amazing Five Thirty band singing and playing instruments along with an engaging Biblical teaching in a warm, relaxed environment. This family-friendly service offers children the freedom to dance, listen, and enjoy included crafts and activities. Children of all ages are welcome, but childcare is provided for children three and under.
The basic order of our services remains largely the same each week, yet within that familiar framework there is variety and innovation. Presbyterian worship seeks to express something of the majesty and wonder of God, drawing from 2,000 years of rich traditions of Christian worship and liturgy. Our services, through praise, prayer, song, sermon and sacrament (baptism and communion), seek to worship God with the dignity and reverence due to him, and yet to do so with the warmth and joy that Jesus Christ brings to life. We trust that our website will answer any questions you may have, and that you can find a place in the rich and varied worship life of our church family.
